Mission, Vision, Purpose:

This is a combined clinical and research Center housed out of the Clinical Genetics Section at the Alberta Children's Hospital, the Department of Medical Genetics and Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute , Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.

The main purposes include:

  • Ensuring a timely molecular diagnosis to Albertans with ReNU syndrome (and related disorders)

  • Serving as a source of information and support for Canadian patients and families with ReNU syndrome and related disorders (until the establishment of or in collaboration with other Canadian Centers of Excellence)

  • Contributing to and applying best practices as it relates to clinical care guidelines for ReNU syndrome

  • Participating in the development of new knowledge through research initiatives

  • Establishing a registry of patients in Alberta (and potentially elsewhere in Canada) with ReNU syndrome to facilitate future clinical trials
